Well what an absolutely fabulous grand final day with some of the best games of hockey we have seen all season.

In our Junior Division each and every player should be holding their heads up high and be so proud of their achievements:  all the games were amazing and clearly demonstrated the passion that all our juniors have for the game:

In Division 2 at full-time both games were drawn and entered into drop offs: the Green Machine and Lightning Hawks battled it out for 3rd and 4th placing with  the Green Machine scoring the golden goal for a final score of 4/3.  In the play off for 1st and 2nd there was nothing between the All Stars and Troopers with each and every player giving their all to the game with the All Star eventual winners 3/2 (golden goal):

Division 1 games were also of the highest standard: with the play off for 3rd and 4th seeing the All Stars too strong for the Green Machine. With the Hurricanes taking on the Bionic Blues for the premiership this game was exciting, nail-biting and fantastic to watch: both sides played to their full potential with a final score at full-time of 3 all. Entering into drop offs and golden goal both the defensive and attacking skills of the players was demonstrated  as the teams matched each other at either end. Special mention to both goalies who played a great game keeping goals out to force a penalty flick shoot out. This was extremely tense and eventually saw the Hurricanes victorious with a 2/1 final score in flicks.

The Ladies saw the BV Misfits  take on Roga Wild Cats in a fast paced game. Both teams were newly formed this year  with the Wild Cats defeating the Misfits 3/0

The Men also had a great game which went to extra time and a final score of 1 all

The Veteran Ladies also played a brilliant game with the favourites Plastered Vets being held to a 1 all draw by Waterloo at full-time:  once again a finals game went into drop offs and it was in the last 10 seconds of the 3rd round of drop offs that Plastered scored their golden goal.

Gary and   I were privileged to witness some exceptional hockey throughout the entire day and would have to say that it was one of the best grand final days we have been involved in and we have seen many grand final days. A very special thanks to all the umpires and tech bench officials who so willingly and generously gave of their time to ensure that the day went smoothly; to all the volunteers who helped in the canteen and bar, who came early and stayed late to put up and pull down tents etc, to the line markers and the ground maintenance team and to every volunteer behind the scenes many thanks. Also a huge thankyou to the coaches, managers, players and spectators on the day and throughout the year for your support and commitment. We  congratulate each and every one of you for a wonderful day and season.
Gary and Cathy
