Good afternoon hockey family,
On Tuesday the 24th of January, we held our yearly Annual General Meeting, alongside our regular monthly meeting. We want to extend a massive thank you to those who came along and contributed to discussing and organising our 2023 season. At this meeting, we discussed the difficulties, as well as the triumphs of our club in 2022, as we heard from our President Tracey in her yearly “President’s Wrap-Up.” We discussed what worked well in 2022 and what could be improved going into the new season commencing in March 2023. We opened nominations for ALL committee positions, as a few of our beloved Executive members are stepping down from their roles.
Tracey Rothwell has been the President of our club for the last 2 years. Tracey will be hanging up her hat on her president role this year, however, you will still see her around our club working closely with coaching our junior players. Tracey has put in countless hours of hard work, dedication and enthusiasm towards our club over the past few years, and we will be forever indebted to her.
Erin will also be hanging up her roles this year. Over the last 5 years, Erin has held Vice President, Canteen Manager, Secretary and Administration Officer positions, and has done a lot of work behind the scenes on our socials and registration portal. She will continue to be a friendly face around our club and will help out where possible, but we also just want to formally send our thanks.
We offer a MASSIVE welcome to those taking over new roles this season and extend our gratitude and many thanks for your commitment and effort towards Atherton Hockey. Katherine Williams will be taking on our Secretary role, and we look forward to working closely with her – thank you Katherine!!! And our current Treasurer Melissa Wilson will not only continue her role into the new year, but has also agreed to take on our Administration Officer role as well. Thank you so much Melissa – you are an absolute champion. We also want to extend a HUGE thank you to those continuing their roles this year. Lylia Edwards will remain our Vice President. Sandra Zelenika will continue to manage our Bar. And Steven Harnischfeger will continue to look after our grounds. Thank you guys – you are incredible.
However, there are still a number of positions that need to be filled. Currently, President, Canteen Manager (paid) and a Minkies Coach are still needed. Our GOAL is to commence our winter season on March 18th, however, will not be able to do so without these positions filled. So please consider volunteering for our club, or if you know someone who is interested, please let us know. Alternatively, our next club meeting will be Tuesday the 21st February 2023.
